A WOMAN from Macduff was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment following a house fire yesterday.
Emergency services were called out to a property located at Myrus Crescent in the Banffshire village after a report of a fire in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze but have now launched a joint investigation with Police Scotland to establish the fire's cause.
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: "At around 1.30am on Thursday, July 21, 2022, officers were called to a report of a fire at Myrus Crescent in Macduff.
"Emergency services attended and a 64-year-old woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
"The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
"A joint investigation with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is ongoing to establish the cause of the fire."
