Triathletes Cameron Main and Sophia Green do Moray and Scotland proud

MORAY'S Commonwealth triathletes did themselves, their families and Scotland proud with their performances on Friday.
Cameron Main and Sophia Green, both from Elgin, made their competitive Commonwealth debut in the men's and women's sprint triathlons.
Main (22) finished 14th overall and was prominent after the swim, emerging from the water in fourth place, just six seconds off the leaders.
At that stage he was ahead of eventual gold medallist Alex Yee from England.
Main admitted afterwards he did not have the 20km bike ride or 5km run that he would have wanted but he has been struggling with injury coming into the event.
However, his performance was still good enough for 14th with an 8 min 40 sec swim, 26.14 bike section and 16m 12s 5km run.
Main, speaking on the Triathlon Scotland Facebook page, said: "I was hoping to have a really good swim and to come out fourth and be right up there was great.
"I didn't have the bike legs or run legs.
"I was smiling the whole way round the course. The support was unbelievable and I had all my family and friends in the grandstand.
"To be here in Birmingham representing Scotland has been an unbelievable experience."
Sophia (21) finished 17th overall in the women's sprint, which saw team-mate Beth Potter win a bronze medal behind champion Flora Duffy of Bermuda.
Green completed the swim in 9m 39s, bike in 29.20 and run in 18.13.
The pair, who started their careers with Moray Road Runners, live and train together in Loughborough.
Green said: "I really enjoyed it. It was such a special moment.
"It was quite an honour and nice to have all that Scottish support there."
Main and Green are in mixed triathlon action on Sunday afternoon at 2.30pm with team-mates Grant Sheldon and Beth Potter.
